Sheepfolds photoshoot 6/02/10

Here’s images from my second time shooting at the sheepfolds. I went with my roommates and their dog Penelope (the tiger striped pitbull puppy) and had a blast.

Poor pup

I don’t know why I wouldn’t post this. My roommate Sophia found a tiny dress on some road in Allston, and for some reason she held onto it until this point. Too bad Penelope’s already too big for it.

I’ve started shooting in this dog park area about 3 miles from my house. Fairly popular area, love the dogs and people I meet here.

Today

I’ve been just riding and exploring lately, and finding some pretty cool areas. Went up here (about 4 miles from my house) and found a great dog park/field where I met a few great people and more than a few great dogs, hopefully I’ll build quite a portfolio this summer.

Finally free

Sophomore year is done, and after a week of moving into my new home in Medford, I’m excited to spend this summer developing more of a commercial portfolio. Aside from weddings (which will be easier to come through while I’m not juggling school and papers as well) I plan on doing more fashion-based work. Had a great shoot with a close friend recently, and although it was raining all day I got out a big ziplock bag, manual focus lenses, and made the best of it. The colors were beautiful and Katy didn’t mind getting dirty.

Another note about iPhone photography

I took this yesterday while walking my dog with my brother. I think the colors and angle is fantastic for a cell phone capture.

In other news, moving into the new home in Medford later on with my girlfriend.

On iPhone photography

A lot’s been said about iPhone photography. The toy-camera filters that have become tightly associated with the art, have gotten old, and are rarely done right. I thought I was sick of seeing faux-polaroids posted everywhere – until coming across this page linked from the incredible photoblog Exposure Compensation.

AP Photographer David Guttenfelder has some interesting and truly passionate images, taken on his iphone, from soldiers in Afghanistan. the effect isn’t as cheesy as I would’ve imagined, and somehow manages to keep me intrigued throughout the series of 33 images.

The long anticipated / feared Content Aware fill feature in photoshop CS5 disappoints. But it’s kind of funny.

Wedding album up

Kylee and Brian’s wedding earlier this month was wonderful. It was a rewarding experience as it was my first wedding. Left me very busy for the weeks after, but I learned a lot. Click through to the album. This isn’t all of the images of course. I edited over 900 images down to 170 for the couple, and then down to this for the “public.” Can’t wait for the next wedding!

Preparing for a wedding

Getting everything together for my first wedding, it’s exciting! 4 cameras, 12 gigs of memory cards, 19 rolls of film, and loads of (deserved) confidence!
